OUR APPROACH

The choir is filled with talented youth and young adults who are passionate about music. We entertain our audiences with an eclectic mix of contemporary choral, musical theatre and traditional sacred choral music.

“I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity of seeing real people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race when I see them cooperating like that.”

— Paul McCartney

Our Values

Compassion and Inclusion

We at the CKC believe in treating everyone with respect. We want to have a safe space where people can be themselves. Choir is a team sport but we all experience it differently, as individuals, and it is important that there is an atmosphere of compassion and tolerance where participants feel safe enough to explore their talents. In such an environment, confidence blossoms.

Choral performance is a team sport

We are proud to be a member of the Waterloo Region arts community. We are proud to work together to produce excellent choral performance. It is an amazing (and proven!) fact that when a group sings together, they breath together, and their hearts beat in rhythm. This experience of shared creativity cannot be understated.

Eduction

Music has the ability to help young people grow in self-esteem, building essential skills for their futures. The study of music enhances learning in other areas as well. Musical training that we provide stimulates and trains the same part of the brain that deals with understanding language. It enhances the skills of verbal articulation, reading, and pattern recognition. Our training is tailored to each individual and their skill level.
